For No Good Reason – Ralph Steadman

Very much looking forward to seeing this film, 15 years in the making, about artist Ralph Steadman. Commonly recognised for his involvement with Hunter S. Thompson, I, however, first became acquainted with his work when my mother gifted me a short story written by Roald Dahl, The Mildenhall Treasure, which was illustrated by Steadman.

I was about nine and completely creeped out by the chaotic and spidery illustrations but also entirely enthralled by the story (I was just embarking on a lengthy fascination with archaeology).

Ralph Steadman’s official (and pretty cool) website can be found here – http://www.ralphsteadman.com/
